Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation – Sefydliad Achub Mynydd Dyffryn Ogwen – have two new fundraising A2 sized photo-topo posters for sale featuring Rhiwiau Caws (Idwal Slabs) and The East face of Tryfan. Created and produced by Simon Cardy, who undertook the majority of the photo-diagrams in the 2010 Ogwen guide, they can be ordered directly from the OVMRO/SAMRO web site.

Simon writes to say:

“After Mike Bailey, author of the CC Ogwen guide, died last October, his family asked for donations to the Ogwen team in his memory. I thought the photo-topo’s would be a good tribute to Mike as well as a good way of boosting funds for a busy team. Having done these topos, I hadn’t quite realised how many routes Mike had also put up on the Continuation Wall. There’s 6 Mike Bailey routes up there – all in amazing positions – all on excellent rock – ranging from E1 to E4. They ought to deserve more attention, quiet and unasumming, much like Mike was himself.”
