Situation: this beautiful cottage is situated opposite the crags of Clogwyn y Grochan and Craig Ddu with great views down the Llanberis Pass. Ideal for an escape from civilisation, with a solid fuel burner (fuel not supplied, bring your own paper/firelighters, kindling and fuel – seasoned wood and quality smokeless fuels/anthracite only), a comfortable sitting area and a well-appointed toilet and shower block. The cottage is 1km below the Cromlech Bridge and 1.5km above the Park & Ride in Nant Peris. Pedestrian access only, park at Ynys Ettws and follow marker signs up the path to the hut.
Accommodation: the hut has 9 bunk spaces (4 doubles, 5 singles) in 2 bunk rooms. Exclusive booking of either room or whole hut is available to both CC members and outside groups. No camping is permitted.
Access: pedestrian access only, cross the river by a bridge that leads to Blaen-y-Nant Farm, turn right and cross a second bridge and follow the track uphill for about 400m. Marker posts have been fixed at a number of points for the convenience of first-time visitors. Front door operated by key fob. Do not to park in the access to Blaen-y-Nant or block gateways.
Services: drinking water is supplied from a private borehole. Electric oven, hobs and microwave cookers. Cooking fat should be poured into worktop fat traps not flushed down sinks, then disposed with general refuse. Refuse, in black bin bags ONLY, and recycling should be placed in the separate wheelie bins by the barrier at Ynys Ettws for collection. Pillows are provided, use disposable pillow case covers provided and dispose of at the end of visit with refuse. No bed linen is provided.
