Saturday 27th October saw an extremely well attended launch party for the new South Devon Guide, with some presentations by a number of guest speakers. There was a lot of climbing in the newly regenerated south facing Torbay quarries Saturday, while snow flurries fell over Dartmoor.
Slideshows from John Cleare, Frank Cannings, Pat Littlejohn, Pete O’Sullivan, Dave Thomas, Duncan Kenny and Simon Wooster. They were all limited to 10 minutes each so as not to interfere with the beer and food consumption. Has Pat really been new-routing in Torbay for over 50 years? Will climbing on Beer Head with axes and crampons ever become popular?
Our thanks to all who were involved in the production of this excellent guide to South Devon. Special thanks to Pete Saunders, Author and Ian Smith, Editor who also arranged the launch party and to Ian for acting as master of ceremonies on the night.
The next guide published in the new A5 format should be “Baggy and the Culm Coast” around Easter 2019.
