Meet Report 10-11/2/24 Pembroke (Range West Briefing)

Six members attended the meet and made the 9am briefing at Merrion Camp. After a 30 minute briefing by the Range Safety Officer and a PCNPA Warden, the 6 members headed into the range from Stack Rocks to Greenham Common. This proved to be above the waves (mostly), and several routes were climbed, including Rainbow Bridge (I missed getting a picture of the wave splash higher than the belay ledge on the arete).
On Sunday 5 members headed into the range from the Gupton Gate (west) end. The access to the climbing on the west coast along Linney Head was checked, but the sea was still very rough, and a decision was made to go to the south facing walls of The Pole, where a number of routes were climbed.
A return will have to be made when the Freshwater West surfing forecast is not “waves 10ft poor, wind 20mph onshore”
