The Halloween Meet proved to be a great success inspite of two fairly soggy days walking. We had around 17 people sit down for a communal meal on Saturday evening (including 5 under 18’s) and enjoyed the company of friends old and new. A toast was raised to Roger whose passing coincided with the start of the meet. We spent a moment thinking about what he had given to the club, not least his custodianship of the Grange hut since our lease began in 2010. His shoes will be hard to fill. We were possibly the first group to enjoy Roger’s last upgrade to the hut – the new heating system which was useful considering the amount of wet clothes that we had.
