Weekend itinerary & social programme

Friday night Social
From 18:30 onwards - first 30 to arrive get a drinks voucher so don’t be late!

The evening will start with drinks & food from the bar for those who need it, then a short session of ‘ice breaker’ team games organised by Hilary.
For the main event I'm very excited to have two of our very own climbing celebrities, Jesse & Molly Dufton - but this time the focus is on the unsung heroine of the team, Molly.

Climbing through my Eyes – talk by Molly Dufton
The exploits of Jesse climbing blind has been well documented in the media, from the Old Man of Hoy to Forked Lightning Crack and new routing in Morocco. Leading trad on-sight without the use of your eyes blows many people’s minds, how is it possible? Well, as the saying doesn’t go, behind every blind man is a trail of carnage...and also a great woman, with blind optimism! Come and hear the untold story from behind the scenes, by the eyes of the ultimate climbing partnership. Molly will let us into her world of climbing, what it takes, the preparation, the trust involved and the many adventures to date. And in true partnership style, Jesse will also be on hand to share his thoughts, in what promises to be a fascinating evening.

Accommodation options:
As always you can choose to stay in the hotel itself, please make the booking yourself either direct with the hotel or through your preferred booking agent.
As an alternative to staying in the hotel, the Club has booked the Llanberis Snowdon Youth Hostel for our exclusive use over the whole weekend (i.e. Friday & Saturday nights). This has 45 beds spread over 12 rooms, a comfortable and spacious communal lounge/dining area and self-catering kitchen. It’s a 15-20 minute walk from the Royal Vic (albeit uphill on the way back!).
This is available for the bargain price of just £40 per person for both nights (please note it is not possible to book for just one night).
You can book this at the same time as making your dinner booking – don’t leave it too late as places are limited! Please note that the option to request a bed in a single sex (male/female) room cannot be guaranteed – I’ll do my best to accommodate this but it will depend on how the numbers work out across the available rooms. More info about the hostel here
We have also block booked our own Welsh huts (Cwm Glas Mawr & Helyg) for the weekend, contact the Dinner Organiser to reserve a bed. Please note it is highly unlikely that Ynys Ettws will be available by this time. There are numerous other Club huts in the vicinity (see the BMC huts directory here
