Author: Tony Scott
Tony has been keen on the mountains since schooldays when he was fell walking in the Lakes. Rock climbing started during his engineering apprenticeship when he was lucky to win a month at the Eskdale Mountain School. During his student days he started rock climbing in N Wales in the 60s. However a demanding career first in Engineering and Academia and then in the evolving computer industry meant that lots of travelling and a growing family resulted in very little time for climbing. In the 80s he joined the London Mountaineering Club and then the CC. Together with a new group of climbers he regularly rock climbed in the Peak District, N Wales and Lakes. He is now a member of an active group of geriatric climbers who meet in the UK and occasionally the Alps. His long years in the IT industry now enables him in retirement to be the geek who helps manages the Club's Web site.
