CWM GLAS MAWR
This beautiful cottage is situated directly opposite Clogwyn y Grochan and Craig Ddu with great views of the Llanberis Pass. Uniquely amongst CC huts Cwm Glas is accessed by a short (10 minute) walk from the parking at our other Llanberis Pass hut, Ynys Ettws, and is ideal for an escape from civilisation. Water Supply: Please be aware that the water is from a private borehole.
Situated on the west side of the Llanberis Pass about 1.9 miles from Pen-y-Pass Youth Hostel and about 1.5 miles after Nant Peris. Parking is at Ynys Ettws from which it is about 10 minutes walk to the hut. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU TO UNLOAD OR PARK AT THE LOWER BRIDGE. YOU MUST PARK AT YNYS ETTWS AND CARRY EVERYTHING FROM THERE.
The way is signposted. After parking your car, head across the field towards Llanberis and cross the small stream at one of 2 places. Go through the broken wall and across the track leading to the house on the left. Aim for a gap in the next wall just left of the electricity wires, and then go downhill. You will come to a stile, go over that and then turn left along the wide track. This leads past a small stone/slate building (part of the hydro scheme). Keep following the track diagonally uphill for about 200m to reach the hut.
