PEMBROKE RANGE WEST - VOL 2

Range West, for long the forbidden side of Pembroke climbing due to its inclusion in a military live firing range. After a long battle the right of access was won and the area has developed into a top class venue. Access is dependent on every visiting climber attending a compulsory briefing about how to avaoid blowing yourself with any of unexploded ordnance that litters some of the area, if you want to visit keep an eye on the BMC website as there are a limited number of briefings each year, usually in late winter/early spring. The climbing here is superb and there are some very impressive lower grade routes.
