Lliwedd; this vast cliff of an almost alpine scale was once regarded as one of the most important cliffs in North Wales. Tastes change and in more recent times it has languished well down the list of 'must visit' crags. Any route on Lliwedd is a full day adventure, to climb the full height of the crag routes have to be combined and between 250m and 300m of climbing is the norm although for those keen on training for Alpine epics there is a 1000m VD traverse of the crag. At least one route on Lliwedd should be on the CV of every serious climber.

As a mountain crag you will encounter some large ledges, vegetation and loose rock, however you will also be able to enjoy some fantastic and atmospheric climbing on good rock. The vast majority of routes are below VS but a wave of exploration in the 1990s means that the cliff now also boasts modern climbs up to E4 including a 300m E2.
