The iconic Llanberis Pass (the Pass) is one of the UK’s best known climbing areas. There is everything on offer from roadside micro routes to long climbs on high mountain crags. The main crags and routes are well known but there is so much more to climbing in the Pass than just Dinas y Gromlech or Dinas Mot and the book lays a strong emphasis on encouraging climbers to visit the lesser known crags, to help there is a light-hearted Alternative Llanberis List of recommended climbs off the beaten track.

The author, Iwan Jones, has an unsurpassed breadth and depth on knowledge of climbing in the Pass having also been the author of the 2003 edition and joint author of its predecessor in 1993 and has also been involved in over a hundred first ascents in the Pass. Iwan has continued his efforts to make sure that the correct local names are given to all the crags. A two page glossary of climbing terms in Welsh has been given, both to aid climbers whose first language is Welsh and also to promote an appreciation of the Welsh language among English speaking climbers.

In addition to the trad routes this guide contains descriptions of the most popular bouldering areas in the Pass written by local bouldering guru Simon Panton.

Please note that although French grades have been included for some of the harder routes that these are trad routes not sport!
