Description
This guidebook covers many major crags including those in Gloucestershire’s’ Wye Valley, the Bristol area, The Mendips and Dorset. All tastes are catered for, Trad, Sport, Bouldering and a bit of Deep Water Soloing. Many of the crags are close to major centres of population such as Bristol and this is a great guide to use to get to know the area. There is a fantastic range of predominantly Limestone crags, from easy roadside single pitch to the majestic multi-pitch routes at Winters Leap and in the two gorges, Avon and Cheddar. One thing to notice is that there are no star ratings in the book, why? it is a selected climbs guide and so the routes are all good!
This authoritative guidebook was written by a team of local a activists from across the area, including: Martin Crocker, Brian Mullan, Paul Roberstson, Scott Titt, Mark Davies, James Parrott, Rick Sewards, John Willson, Gordon Jenkin, Guy Percival and Steve Taylor
Please note: The Lower Wye Valley guide is temporarily out of print while a new edition is in preparation, SW Climbs Vol 1 includes all the best climbing in the Lower Wye Valley (Shorn Cliff, Winters Leap and Wycliffe)
